Contemporary art rendez-vous alongside FIAC and Frieze

Paris, 11 October 2011, Art Media Agency (AMA).

While Europe focuses on Paris and London, where the FIAC and Frieze fairs are hosted, there are other contemporary art exhibitions taking place until next month.

Brussels Accessible Art Fair (BAAF) will take place from 28 – 30 October at Conrad Hotel of Belgian capital. This show will promote emerging artists of the Belgian and European scene, selected by a panel of judges, who take into account their talent and the attractive prices of their works. The aim of the demonstration is to set itself apart from the others, by promoting a quality work within a larger audience, intimidated by high prices figuring in large events, such as FIAC or Frieze.

In Amsterdam, Affordable Art Fair will celebrate its five years, also from 28 – 30 October. This show will also focus on quality of works, along with prices and artists’ talent. Prices will be ranged from €100 – 5,000. Exhibiting galleries, which have been carefully selected, will defend diversity in the modern and contemporary artistic scene: so they will present works of a figurative or abstract style or of a classic and avant-garde style. Affordable Art Fair will take place in eleven different cities all over the world, and will modify the show’s dates during the year. Among these cities will be Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Bristol, Brussels, London, Melbourne, Milan, Sydney and Singapore.

As it concerns Germany, the second edition of Bloom Fair exhibition in Cologne will take place from 29 October to 1 November. This show will demand an international exchange platform which will be addressed to artists, art traders and artistic projects of the cultural industry. This show will host new galleries, which have been open for less than five years, or galleries of the last decade that present land art, lowbrow art or urban art.

This demonstration will share its installations with Art Fair, that is taking place at the same time. This is the ninth edition of the show, that will host famous international artists and galleries. Staatenhaus am Rheinpark, a historical site of Cologne, will welcome for the second time these rendezvous, adding a new dimension into the dialogue between modern and contemporary production.

Across the Atlantic, autumnal contemporary art shows will also take place. The twelfth edition of Toronto International Art Fair (TIAF) will be presented from 28 – 31 October. The demonstration will have its opening night on 27 October, with a collection organized by Ontario Art Gallery. Several conferences, demonstrations, projects and meetings will mark this edition. TIAF is one of the major rendez-vous of the contemporary art market in Canada.
