Pierre Bergé et Associés will be hosting the sale “Scandinavian Design VII” on 25 March 2012. Among the objects presented are two pieces by Finnish master Alvar Aalto (1898-1976):
- Chaise longue “n°43″, straps and bent birch plywood, circa 1936. Hedemora edition: H: 60 cm, L: 62 cm, P:150 cm, estimated between €6,000-8,000.
- Floor lamp “A 809″, enamelled metal, leather and brass, dated 1955-1999. Valaistustyö Ky edition. H: 167.7 cm, estimated between €10,000-15,000.
Among other objects presented at the auction are:
- “PH-Septima”, cast glass and acid-etched, Poul Henningsen (1894-1967), circa 1930. H: 40 cm D: 52 cm D: 63 cm, estimated between €30,000-40,000.
- Chaise longue “JH-524″, oak and rope, Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007), circa 1958. Created by Johannes Hansen. H: 91.5 cm, L: 165 cm, D: 63 cm, estimated between €28,000-35,000.
These objects will be available to view at Pierre Bergé et Associés, 40 place du Grand Sablon in Brussels, on 22 to 24 March 2012 from 10am - 6pm, and on 25 March from 10am – 1pm.
