Les Douches La Galerie is willing to show visitors the unique link between photography and science in an exhibition that will take place from 22 September to 22 November 2012.
Eversince its creation in 1839, photography has been a most precious technique for scientists. It allows them to keep and conserve what man cannot see, from infinitely small to infinitely large. However, very soon distracted from its previous use during the XXth century, this scientific iconography now belongs to the avant-garde.
Les Douches La Galerie has never presented an exhibition about science, it is then really a first, with Berenice Abbott’s and Raphaël Dallaporta’s photographs. Revealing to the audience mechanisms of physics for one and anatomy for the other, these two photographers are willing to explore a new universe and offer the spectators two levels of reading. The aim of the exhibition is first and foremost to question the world and how it works.
