On 7 October 2012, Sotheby’s Hong Kong will organise a modern and contemporary Southeast Asian paintings auction sale at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. These auctions will present to the public some top quality works. The collection will reflect the eclectism of Asian art, both original and timeless.
150 artworks from various private collections all over the world will be put in sale, including a Lee Man Fong painting, Fortune and Longevity, showing both Western and Eastern influence. Works of Vietnamese, Indonesian, Indo-Europeans and Singaporean artists will be presented. The total turnover will probably reach next to 5.8 M $ (45 M Hong Kong $).
These auctions ensures Sotheby’s leading rank in Asian art market, a position which allows the house to claim major works of important artists, such as Fernand Amorsolo, Pham Hau and many others. The sale is then expected to be an exceptional event, launching a brilliant 2012 fall season.
