Auctioneers Gros and Delettrez will be putting on a sale of books and manuscripts at the Drouot-Richelieu hotel on the 29 February 2012 starting at 2pm.
In total 309 lots will be put up for sale. The first 100 will include books and manuscripts, modern drawings, posters, photographs, religious images, calanders and greetings cards created by various artists. Following this will be a series of autographs by marshalls of the French Empire, Empress Joséphine, Louis XVI, the King of Rome, the anarchist Jean Grave, figures from the 19eth et 20th centuries, the Bourbon-Condé family, as well as of thinkers, philosophers, docotrs, explorers, political figures, writers and poets. The Gazette-Drouot has announced that several dozen lots are expected to sell for between €500 and €2,000. However, several pieces are expected to go for in the region of €3,000 to €6,000.
The lots will be open to public viewing at the Drouot Hotel on Tuesday 2 February between 11am and 6pm, and on Wednesday 29 February from 11am to midday.
